Sorry cow milk, our relationship has to end, I'm with Soy milk now.

So this past week or so I've caught up with some friends I used to go to high school with via the internet. It's been shocking at best and slightly disturbing as well. Dredging up old memories for me can be hard from time to time. Especially when I was so close with these people and we drifted apart as we did. It really wasn't for any particular reason just life taking us down very different paths.

I am happy though, to be caught up with my friend Renee. We were the goofiest bunch of idiots together always being loud and boisterous not giving a fuck about what other people had to say about us. Now she is living in the city with another friend of mine from high school and living our dream when we were kids. Personally now, I wouldn't live in the city if you paid me. But it's awesome she is making things happen there.

There was also discovery that the guy I went to the prom with is two hairs shy of being famous. He's a successful sculpture, video producer, and big time animal activist. It's so weird to see some of the videos that he has produced, Some of the artistic ideas that come flowing from his brain. I keep thinking, was he like this when we were friends in high school? I knew he was incredibly talented, but I guess I couldn't see farther than where we were at the time.

Anyway, I was watching one of his friends "vegan parenting" videos and became interested in the idea of Soy milk. What struck me was a women was talking about cow milk. She said "cow milk is meant for baby cows, not for human consumption" I thought to myself, it only makes sense! So tonight my roommate was telling me about how her baby has been getting rashes because of my roommate drinking cows milk (she's breast feeding so whatever mum eats baby eats in a way) so she had decided she was going to try out Soy milk. So, that's when I decided if she buys, I will try it, if it's good, I will drink it in substitution for cows milk.

She just got home from the grocery about a half an hour ago, let me tell you. Soy milk is YUMMY. It sort of has a rice pudding taste. With out the lumps of rice of course. It even comes in chocolate and vanilla. I think it is going to be well worth the extra couple of bucks. Although I am not willing to go 100% vegan. I think it's a fantastic alternative to cows milk. Especially with all the hormones they are injecting into cows now, to make the produce more milk or grow bigger in general.

So, KUDOS Soy milk. Erica is on your side.

*I am sure the opinion I expressed here is not necessarily one that Mik will agree with. I think if he tastes Soy milk though he will thoroughly enjoy it and make the switch with me. I am just crossing my fingers that Australia has jumped on the Soy milk wagon and it isn't hard to find.

Today was good. I cleaned all day though nothing better then the sheen of a clean and waxed floor. It was kind of payment for my roommate letting me borrow her vehicle for the immigration physical tomorrow. I just want to get it over with really. I am so nervous. Every time I have to go to the doctor for any reason I get nervous. Everything has been going so well with Mik and I, With the immigration progress. Anyway, I can't think of even the possibility of us not having a life together. It will and IS going to happen.

Day by day by day by day.....

Things were good today. Relaxed a lot. Of course I am still sick. The worst part, it's the beginning of the work week. Same old shit it seems.

I made my appointment for the immigration physical today. What a pain in the ass it is. First off I have to get all the way over to Buffalo for it. Then, the doctor only does physicals on Tuesdays. They are booked up until the 27th. How effing inconvenient. On top of it, I may have to take part of the test at a later date. They government physicians sure aren't in any hurry. Plus, they are going to charge me 350$. Which I suppose is peanuts compared to how much Mik has shelled out for immigration costs, which I think ranks up there to about 3000$ so far. It's all craziness. I can't wait to get it over with. So I can finally get on with my life.

Fun times in The United States of America

For the past week there have been two army guys stalking young men in the mall. They drive me crazy, it's like they are on a strategic military mission to recruit as many able bodied young men they can find. I think they've asked the friendly neighborhood gay guy like five times if he wanted to join. HELLO he's gay! But nonetheless, the act like two sharks circling their pray one will go around one way the other shark the opposite direction. I actually saw a guy looking completely uncomfortable trying to back away from the two and they just kept getting closer.

Every time a security guard walks past I am tempted to ask them if it's legal for them to be harassing innocent boys to enlist in the military. But I know it probably isn't because the mall more than likely considered public property.

It also makes me think, is the military so desperate that they have to harass people into enlisting? Are they getting too few people that come into the enlistment office on their own they have to take it to the streets. It also seems as if they target minorities, which makes me wonder are they using the fact that some of these people are uneducated and poor that they'd do anything to get out of the ghetto?

I seriously am glad I am not an American male right now. They don't harass me because the last thing they need is women in the military ( from their stand point at least). I just wonder when do you think it will get bad enough for the United States to reinstate the draft.

Fun times America, fun times.
